Becoming Dementia Friendly Church

As part of getting our Becoming Dementia Friendly Certificate. We are looking at using an individuals church passport to show what our memories of favourite church related things and events, linking this with out local care homes. To produce a collage or similar to show our memories and connections between Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III coronations - do you have memories that can be written down or photographs to help build this up and display at church.

A prayer for people affected by Dementia

God of love, In moments of confusion, keep us safe. In moments of clarity, grant us joy. In moments of frustration, give us peace. In moments of sorrow, bring us comfort. Though we now see through a glass, darkly, we trust you to see into the secret places of our minds and hearts and souls, beyond anything which limits us, to the person that is us, always has been us and always will be us. Encircle us in your faith and hope and love, until we see you face to face, until we know you fully, even as we are fully known. Amen

Hoping to reopen little angels and toddlers group possibly Tuesday am, look out for further details.

The CAMEO Cafe is a great joy and we have had a number of people coming in to have a drink and a chat, what a testament to all who put this on and we look forward to our next in

We are now registered as an ECO church and have been successful in achieving a BRONZE award.

The benefice - Online services available from St. John's Community Church and St. Anne's and of course the Church of England website.

We are moving ahead all the time and looking for joint ventures and looking to support each other in what we do. The MU now has members from St.John's and St.Annes and is now called the Burntwood Chase Benefice MU.

Also we have our benefice prayer group who meet in our churches to offer up prayers for all.

Remember we are a team working together for all in the benefice at our four churches at Christ Church,St.John - Hammerwich,St.Annes and St.John Community Church

Use of the website

We are happy to report continuing use of the web for enquiries and having helped out on families in the churchyard and a couple of Wedding enquiries and baptism enquiries.

Churchyard

We have a water butt now available and a blue industrial wheelie bins for rubbish.The brown bin is now in use but only for flowers and leaves(not plastic wrapping or oasis). Our blue bin is for recycleable material only and no flower wrappings or plastic bags.
